The New War

The situation in Libya grows worse each day. Through our president, America has taken a stand to back the rebels rising up against Mommar Qaddafi. There have been other dictators who have mistreated their people, but we have taken a stand against Libya. Is it because of the oil? These suggestions have been denied as we do not get Libyan oil. The bigger question is can we afford to enter another war?
A great deal of noise is buzzing about this very thing. However, by choosing to go in under NATO, Obama is hoping to avoid being embroiled in another conflict that would yet force our military's involvement. They are spread pretty thin right now.
And yet rumors persist of closed door meetings and CIA operatives going to ground in Libya.
Obama denies it, saying we will not send ground troops. And yet word is coming out of Camp LeJeune that the marines are preparing to go into training for a secretive military operation. And it doesn't sound like Afghanistan.
Obama knows that if he undertakes another war, he will not survive the 2012 election which is most likely the reason this is all so secretive.
His far left supporters are already jumping ship, and those on the right are attacking his every move. Another war just about seals his fate to go back to Chicago, home of the gangland style of politics.
Qaddafi must be dealt with. But he is not the only dictator committing atrocities against their people. What about the people of Darfur in Africa? Does the United States take a hand in all the atrocities in the world? No, we don't.
Since we are in such dire circumstances here at home, we should be cutting off aid to all these cesspool nations that hate us so much. And to involve us in yet another conflict is wrong on so many levels. Has anyone bothered to check out who the rebels are? How do we know they aren't Al Queda or Iranians? To replace one dictator with another terrorist doesn't help the world cause. Or does Obama have an ulterior motive?
Could the true story be that it takes the focus off our economy and our lack of jobs? Maybe it takes the heat off what is really the focus of the nation and gives Obama an excuse for not creating jobs, not focusing on the budget or the welfare of his own country. ~ One Voice

The Changing Face of Egypt

Mubarak has stepped down at last. Could there have been any other outcome?
While the cry for democracy is heard throughout the world, will that be the result of the mass protests in Egypt?
We hope that we will see the dawning of another democratic breakthrough for that nation, and not the dawning of another country falling to the despotic influence of the radical Muslims of the world. We saw the outcry against the last elections in Iran that were skewed in favor of Ahmadinejad. Many were punished by death for the revolt in the streets of Teheran.
If the Muslims come to power, and this is a very real possibility, Egypt's problems are just beginning. Yes, a dictator has been removed, but often the results of a revolution become worse than what was there before.
Let's hope that Egyptians get their say in the voting process. But the U.S. needs to be watchful because whatever happens in Egypt has a direct impact on our nation. If the Muslims or another anti-American factions takes charge of the Suez Canal, we can be cut off from our main energy source.
Off shore drilling can combat some of the expense of having to rely on OPEC's shipments, but trouble over the canal will have far reaching effects.
We bless the people of Egypt and understand their pleas for a free society. We are thankful for our own freedom and want to keep it at all costs.
We can only hope that our intelligence agencies and security teams are keeping a close watch on developments in Egypt. We cannot afford not to. ~ One Voice

Tragedy in Tucson

Much has been said about the horrific events that occurred last Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011. There is enough hatred in the world without manufacturing more.
But that is just what the left wingers are doing, trying to blame the actions of a lunatic by laying the blame at the feet of the Tea party, conservative television commentators, and Sarah Palin. Sheriff Dupnik, Tucson's representative of the law, has been busy blaming the senseless killings on everyone but the real culprit, the murderer himself, Jared Laughner.
What is it about the Democrats? Every since this horrible event happened, we have heard diatribes against conservative talk show hosts Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, the Tea Party, and Sarah Palin. It has become apparent that Laughner had been planning this heinous act since 2007. He was out to get Giffords well before the Tea party was even formed, before Palin became a vice presidential candidate. Democrates have used this crisis to further their own agendas, using it for everything from ramping up the gun control debate to raising money for their political campaigns. This is just as horrifying to me as the actual attack on Giffords and the people of Tucson.
What is wrong with with these government officials? When did it become all right to use tragedies for their own personal gain? And what is Obama thinking by remaining silent in the face of this inhumane treatment of the victims and their families?
While Sheriff Dupnik makes the rounds of the left based talk shows and attacks those on the right, how is this helping those who were attacked to get answers to the tragedy or to heal in the aftermath of six murders and one attempted murder?
Obama needs to call these Democrats to task for their bad behavior. But don't hold your breath. I doubt it will ever happen. ~ One Voice

The Day Has Come

It's here! The day of reckoning that we promised in November. Nancy Pelosi is fired! We, the people, made that happen. And today, was the day she was dethroned.
After a lengthy speech, she finally handed over the gavel to the new Speaker of the House, John Boehner. His acceptance speech was shorter than hers. He was succinct and to the point, reminding Americans that they were going to do the people's business.
First on the agenda will be repealing the Obamacare debacle known as health care reform. Despite receiving a letter from Harry Reid and top democrats insisting this is "an exercise in futility", Boehner listened to the people and this is what they want. Not the autocratic bill full of earmarks that the democrats jammed through despite nearly every one's protest. Maybe it won't pass the Senate, but there are other ways to stop it, like funding issues.
Cost Cutting will be next. The GOP is starting on the right foot by setting an example to their constituents by cutting their own salaries, albeit, not a large amount, but 5% is better than voting themselves an increase every year. Why shouldn't they feel the crunch that most Americans are feeling in this trying economy?
The spending cuts are going to hurt everyone alike. Perhaps this time it won't only be the older people who feel this crunch. It needs to be spread to the wealthy, to everyone, rich or poor, across this country. But most importantly, the government needs to do serious cutting. Getting rid of earmarks for states is a big way to do that. Not the only answer, of course, but it's a start.
Congratulations to the new Congress. We will be watching you to see that you do what the people have asked of you. If not, the next election will show an even bigger upset than the last one. The time for business as usual is over. ~One Voice

Remembering Pearl Harbor

Do you remember it? Most of us are too young to have been there. But we remember the stories, the horrific pictures, the history of it all.
December 7, 1941, as Roosevelt said, "is a day that will live in infamy." History books today may try to cloud that day over with "political correctness." But we were viciously and brutally attacked by the Japanese.
The destruction of much of our Navy's battleships was a blow to the Americans and yet they rose up from the ashes of those bombings to fight back for our country. Millions of men marched into recruitment centers and signed up to fight the enemy.
They became our "Greatest Generation." Proud young boys eager to stand up for their country and do the nation proud. And that they did.
If you know any veterans from that time that are still with us, listento their stories. And thank them for their service to this country. They literally saved the nation.
Many lives were lost that day. Bright, fresh young faces that went through hell and some who now lay buried in the belly of those ships. Say a silent prayer in their memory.
Make this day a day to remember. Next year we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of this sad day. And despite this attack, and the war that followed, a new generation of Americans was born into a free nation. Thank God for their service and may God Bless America! ~One Voice

Delay vs. Rangel: Double Standards

Tom Delay was ousted from office several years ago and the charge was money laundering, giving campaign contributions to other candidates. Charlie Rangel hasn't paid his taxes in several years on property he owns in the Dominican Republic. Delay has been convicted, though it took several trials to get that conviction. Rangel, to my knowledge, as not been approached by the Feds, but has been censured by his colleagues in the House of Representatives. What that will entail has yet to be decided. But Rangel is still there, still serving in the House, having been re-elected to another term by his constituents in Harlem. He is 80 years old.
Both men have served many terms in the legislature and while one will certainly have a jail term, the other, Rangel, will no doubt still be free.
Where is the justice in this country? I am not standing behind either party, but am demanding equal justice for both crimes. Rangel should be kicked out as Delay was. Anytime crimes are committed justice needs to prevail. And neither should be permitted to hold onto their office. (Delay was removed; but will Rangel be forced to step down?
I doubt it. There are 2 sets of rules for Democrats and Republicans. And if you aren't wise to this, you've been hiding behind a rock. James Traficant, a representative from Ohio, served jail time. He was a Republican. Tom Delay will likely serve jail time, he is a Republican. And Rangel likely will get a slap on the wrist.
It's time to stop this double standard in our Congress. If you do the crime, you do the time and that's the end of that story.
Keep on your representatives and senators. Do not allow them to adhere to this double standard any longer. We have to watch them closely and refuse to let them get away with anything, because if we stand back and do nothing, they will continue to ignore the pressing problems of the people and go ahead with business as usual. We cannot accept that. We have a brand new Congress coming in this January; one who has promised to adhere to the will of the people. Let's hold everyone of them accountable. ~ One Voice

Tea Party Patriots: What's Ahead

The Tea Party can pat itself on the back. Hey, we did a good job. But our work is not done.
Our work is just beginning. We have to keep our eye on the republicans in Washington. We've heard that Boehner is keeping the will of the people at the fore front of his agenda. That's good, but we have to make sure that things are done appropriately.
As we look forward to 2012, we have to target the opposition where Democrats still retained their offices and find viable candidates to take them down. No, we are not a hit squad. But we have to stay active in our quest to retain a traditional America, one totally based on our Constitution and the principles created by our forefathers.
Things are going to be difficult out here in the grassroots of America. We all have to bite the bullet and tighten our belts as everyone has to pitch in and face the hard fact that cuts must be made. But once we get through these hard days ahead, we will come out victorious on the other side of the war on the national debt.
No more spending in Washington will directly impact many lives. We can only hope they won't continually make the elders pay for the sins of the younger ones who put us on this path.
Looking ahead to the next election, we must prepare because the left is going to come at us with all they've got. We'll be ridiculed, insulted, and literally attacked from all sides. Why? Because they fear us. We have the power. We are the people.
So let's begin now to prepare for 2012. There is a lot of work ahead that must be done before the next election. Let's get started by recruiting more members. We need to get through to the people who haven't voted and win them to our side. And the best way to do that is with knowledge. Spread the word. Invite people to the meetings. Let them see the level to which we are committed to keeping America free!
So, for now, you can pat yourself on the back for a job well done. Then buckle down and get ready to work. ~ One Voice
