NPR Controversy and Tea Party Attacks

The Firing of Juan Williams
NPR's actions against news analyst Juan Williams smack of discrimination. It is my humble opinion that they were waiting for a reason to let him go - after all, he was a commentator for FOX and we all no that FOX is an abomination to the national news media. I had someone tell me today that FOX is yellow journalism. How does one come to that conclusion when both sides, left and right, are presented?
Not only did the President of NPR handle this decision without compassion, she insulted Williams by suggesting he talk to "his psychiatrist or PR person, whichever he feels the need to see." And this woman still has her job?
Apparently, ever since Williams joined the FOX team, he became a pariah to NPR. Never mind that he gave them ten years out of his life. He is hurt by their behavior, as well he should be. Try to explain this kind of behavior to your children as he had to do.
As we speak, there are efforts to unfund this network. The Federal government has before it a measure in which they asked for funding. The government's part is small, as they rely on the public for most of its funding. Yes, tax payers are paying for this one too.
Enter George Soros.
The mega-billionaire George Soros, long known to bankroll left leaning causes, has stepped in and made big donations to NPR - enough to "hire" 100 news journalists who have "the right attitude about news"; also he is now publicly funneling money to Media Matters (which before now he would never admit); before it was funneled through The Tides, a group that he used to hide his questionable donations.
He's getting a network set up in which he can attack the "right" should they win the midterm elections.
His plans for ths country and his secretive behind the scenes plotting are about to go up in smoke. People are not as stupid as he believes.
Tea Party Attacks
The Tea Party is already undergoing the attacks from the far left. Sarah Palin, most of all. She is not the single solitary spokesperson for the Tea Party but they are lumped together one and the same. Those on the left have her and her husband throwing tin cans at each other in their front yard. Sounds more like this came from the National Enquirer than NPR.
The Tea Party, though not a political party, is defined as one. We've been labeled racists, loonies, astroturf and worse. All of this posturing is the result of a grassroots effort to take back our country starting with this election because we do not like what those in power are trying to do to this country. And folks, I have to tell you, all of this is the result of good, hard work.
Fear is taking over.
That's right. They are scared. And the best way to fight something they cannot understand is to denigrate us. We are fighting in the trenches for the country we believe in. And no amount of ridicule by the left is going to make us give up.
Whether we are being attacked for stating our opinion, like Juan Williams, a known liberal but certainly not a bigot, or Sarah Palin for swaying so many people to see the right path, we are getting to them. And all I can say is, Keep up the good work, Tea Partiers! Never stop fighting to take America back! ~ One Voice
