Obama was presented with a golden opportunity today in a press conference to address the gigantic victory by the GOP last night. Unfortunately, Obama missed the opportunity. He did his best to appear humble but his words didn't match his appearance.
He still doesn't get it. The votes overwhelmingly were a referendum against Obama's policies, especially health care, but he still doesn't see that.
Instead of admitting that he understands what the people want, he pretty much insisted that he sees no reason to "repeat events that occurred in the last year."
He says he's willing to sit down with Boehner, McConnell, Pelosi, and Reid to discuss "any ideas they may have to make his plan better." But if you read the body language, you can read the insincerity of his words.
Don't count on this being an easy transition. When the House of Representatives try to repeal Obamacare, he's going to dig in and fight them tooth and nail. Since the GOP didn't win the House, we will be stopped in our tracks and that is what Obama is counting on.
But the House can stop the funding and that is where we will win. So just a word of advice to Obama. If you think we had a tsunami last night, wait until 2 years from now. We will fire you, too!
The people of this country have spoken. They want less government, repealed health care, more jobs. They want the economy fixed. And you don't do that with Obamacare which is causing insurance companies to double and triple their rates.
He promises to work with the new Congress. That remains to be seen.
It's time he realizes what the people want and then he must deliver. ~
