The state of the union is in disarray as Obama comes before the American people trying to say what a great job he is doing on their behalf. I only watched this speech because I wanted to see if the agenda would change from far left to centrist. And it has not.
I'm so glad he told me that the economy is on the rise. For a moment I thought that it was on the decline since the jobless rate continues to climb; and since my dollars don't buy near as much at the grocery store. My friends who cannot find a job will be glad to hear that too.
The senior citizens will be glad to know that even though they didn't get a raise this year in Social Security benefits, the nation is sound. Cancer patients are being turned down for treatment, but he's still backing that health care bill that punishes people who are sick and people that rely on those benefits to pay their bills. Notice how he doesn't mentioned how he cut Medicare benefits. His philosophy is get rid of the elderly; they cost too much. Nothing changed there.
Again, he's brought up the same tired rhetoric he preached on the campaign trail. Even though, he has not implemented a single promise made during the election campaign. Words roll easily off his tongue, as easily as they roll across the teleprompter.
Higher education breaks are nice, but let's see him follow through on this one. Because before a kid can even get through his first year at the university, he has to start paying on that loan; even though he doesn't have a job because he's going to school or carrying a full load to get through faster.
The man is so filled with arrogance; He's going to creat a perfect country. He will end all wars. Note, he doesn't say anything about winning or victory. Just that the troops will be coming home. That's what his far left friends want. Not to protect this country by keeping the terrorists at bay. Same lyrics he's sung before.
He is asking for the removal of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy. On that we can all agree. Anyone should be able to serve their country.
This past week, a highly democratic state voted for a republican to take Ted Kennedy's long held seat. The democrats are behind in the polls of all those running for re-election, many of them by double digits. The end of democratic majority will soon be but a memory.
If he really wanted to do something for this country, he would insist on term limits for Congress. The time has come. Despite the age discrimination cries, it is time to send those home who are too old to care or know what is happening.
And if the Obama is insisting we pass health care reform, let him give us the plan that Congress enjoys. After all, they work for us. We should have the same plan or they should go on ours. And theirs is for the rest of their life whether they are defeated or not; whether they go home or stay.
For the most part what Obama has said is more of the same. Continual references to the "past adminstration", praising himself for his accomplishments, and promising us the moon. We already know he can't deliver.
He needs to listen to the voices of the people. His plans to go to the center have failed as he clings to the policies he deems important. The Tea Party advocates won big tonight. Obama cannot let go of his stubborn demeanor.
And insulting the Supreme Court, the highest law of the land, is not any way to court the people.
With his arrogant stubborn attitude, Obama has continued to inflame the people. He will bring about change; the change to another President in 2012.~One Voice
