Protest rallies have been a part of our culture for generations, dating all the way back to the Revolution era. The original protesters, that handful of citizens who stood up and fought for their beliefs are responsible for the freedom we hold dear today.
Generations later, the protests of the sixties against the Viet Nam war raged on, defacing the military heroes who returned home. The left was all for this "freedom of speech."
The Tea parties that have sprung up all over this country are the newest form of freedom of speech. But now, the left is against them. They fear us. They were all for the right to protest for their causes but now the shoe is on the other foot. The right was to protest what they see as unfair taxation, among other things, and that is their right.
And for former President Clinton to be denigrating our efforts is a slap in the face. Trying to liken our peaceful protests to what happened at the Oklahoma federal building bombing is asinine. And he of all people, should cast stones at anyone? How soon they forget the cloud of embarrassment that hung over his oval office a few years back.
The effort of Tea Party people will become more important as we grow closer to the elections. They are not going away; their efforts will only strengthen and grow as more people become dissatisfied with the current administration's efforts to make a joke of us; to brand us as ungrateful, and "AstroTurf", making fun of our grassroots effort. Let them ridicule us; let them make jokes, but it is the grassroots campaign of Americans who will unseat those in power and we will have the last laugh as Democrats pack their bags to go home.
State run media outlets are beginning to cover our efforts; our efforts have indeed had a strong impact as the left has put out "infiltrators" to get into the Tea Party and denigrate us from within. We will not let them denigrate us anymore than we will let the left win in November. The battle lines have been drawn and we will stand firm in our effort to demonstrate to Washington our desire to be heard.
Nothing has worked so far. The Democrats who ridicule us; those who have sold out will face our retribution in the fall. No, we are not violent, though the press is trying to say we are (those are the infiltrators at work); our right to protest the wrong we see going on in Washington is our right.
The don't have to accept us; but they do have to accept the will of the people in this country; once more our voice will be heard loudly at the ballot box.
Won't you join in the effort to rid our country of those in power who will not listen to the will of the people?
They left has had to do everything in their power to distract from our mission; but we are being heard by millions of Americans who, like us, are sick and tired of Washington not listening to us. They will trot out Clinton because at one time his charisma would charm the birds out of the trees, but his day is past. And he has many sins the right has not forgotten.
In November, there will be a new Contract with America and the Tea Parties efforts will be rewarded by victory. Be on the winning side and cast your vote for America.
