Smoke and Mirrors

The big summit between the Democrats and Republicans and Obama is taking place as I sit to write this commentary. It is a ploy from Obama to show the world he is willing to negotiate with Republicans to get the health care initiative passed. It's more of the same. Make it look like he is willing to negotiate when the opposite is true.
Make republicans continue to look like the party of no.
I hope they do continue to hold their ground. They should be the party of no if that means defeating Obama's dastardly plans to discriminate against the seniors of this country by taking away benefits that they neeed to survive. The party of tax and spend Democrats is not willing to listen to anything the Republicans have to say. So this is nothing more than a political ploy to trap the Republicans into looking bad. No matter how many ideas the Republicans have, they are no good. Nancy Pelosi has already stated they are not interested in starting over. That is not an option. So why perform this exercise in futility?
Obama is trying to make Americans see that Republicans are against them. However, no matter how many primaries are held and Democrats are defeated, they don't get the message. Americans are against this health care plan. Millions of Americans have demonstrated that they do not want this plan.
Obama's poll numbers keep going down; 56% of Americans disapprove of his job performance. Still he doesn't get the message. Americans want jobs; put Americans back to work then talk about health care options. Scrap the health care bill as it stands now and rework it to include tort reform and other options that will help Americans like re-instating benefits for seniors. If it's passed the way it stands now, it will only add to the deficit and not help anyone. Don't pass this legislation on the backs of senior citizens who will be denied health care because they are older. No one is denying that we need to have health care reform, but not the current bill.
As the exercise in futility continues, Obama stands firm. He espouses to want to work with the Republicans and he is lying, America. He is only interested in the deomocratic plan and he is stubbornly clinging to his ideas. He will never back down. And that's okay. Because his support base is already shrinking; come November it's going to shrink a whole lot more.
Obama's summit is resulting in nothing but a waste of time for Congress and more importantly, for the American people. I would have loved to have seen the Republicans walk out on this travesty, rather than sit there and be humiliated by the Democrat's arrogance. Because Obama is never going to budge. No matter how many ideas they present; no matter how much they try to reason, their efforts will be ignored.
Does anyone in Congress remember the rallies of this past summer when Americans bared their souls to get these Congressional representatives to listen to what they want? No, they don't remember. Come November the tide will turn and Democrates and Republicans are going to pay the price for not listening to the voice of America. ~ One Voice
